Fundamentals
of
Joint Application Development (JAD)
A Three-Day Instructor Led Course

Course
Synopsis
I.T. Professionals are faced with rapid development of new applications
and critical enhancement of existing systems. The use of Joint Application
Development (JAD) techniques is based upon the observation that poor
intra-team communication, incomplete requirements definition and lack
of consensus are the primary inhibitors of project success.
This seminar teaches the essential skills and techniques needed to effectively
plan, organize, facilitate, participate in and document JAD Planning,
Requirements and Design Sessions. Special emphasis is placed on integration
of JAD within a development methodology and strengthening facilitation
skills.
JAD focuses on the use of highly structured, well planned, facilitated
meetings to rapidly identify and define key components of system development
projects. In these JAD sessions the Facilitator, Scribe, End User and
MIS project team members effectively obtain and document written requirements
and specifications which serve as project baselines.
JAD is the most cost-effective method of improving overall project team
performance and enhancing the relationship between Information Systems
Developers and their Users.
