Information Engineering Methods
for
Effective Business Area Analysis (BAA)
A Four-Day Instructor Led Course

Course Synopsis

Business Area Analysis (BAA) is an integral part of the Information Engineering development life cycle.

BAA is designed to analyze and capture both process and data requirements at an enterprise or departmental level. The BAA deliverable accurately defines the processes, data and entity relationships needed to manage the transition from System Requirements to Business Model to System Design.

This course teaches various successful modeling techniques for data and processes, normalizing data, decomposition of processes and how to confirm the BAA model and plan for systems design.

This course combines lecture materials with realistic case study exercises. The focus is on developing practical skills which can be applied to new development, enhancement or maintenance projects.
Where traditional methodologies have failed to deliver, BAA resolves the challenges and problems of analyzing requirements and developing specifications.

Successful projects use BAA methods to establish and control project scope. By applying the business criteria needed to define essential data and processes, project teams can deliver systems at a lower cost and with increased user satisfaction.
